Who's cooking
Two smokehouses, one pit crew
Catering is the biggest part of what 322 BBQ does. Two smokehouses on US Route 322 — Wilmington, DE and Mullica Hill, NJ — share the work, so the same post-oak brisket, ribs and sides reach events across Delaware, South Jersey and Southeastern Pennsylvania. Online booking takes 10 to 2,000 guests; smaller orders can go same day; the catering desk has its own line for full service, the food truck and venue events. June and December weekends fill early.
Chef David Wiederholt is a Culinary Institute of America graduate and took first place at the Philly Burger Brawl with the D&S Burger.
Who we feed. Warehouses, utilities, medical offices, law firms and schools across New Castle County & Gloucester County.
Mullica Hill smokehouse: Voted Best Barbeque in Gloucester County three years running — Best of Gloucester County 2023, 2024 and 2025.

How booking works
Two ways to buy, and you can mix them. A per-guest package is one price a guest for the whole spread, minimum 10 guests. Pans and trays by the piece price each pan on its own, with no minimum. Tap either and the sheet asks how many and which meats, sides or sauces.
A 50% deposit holds the date. Your final headcount and the balance are due 7 days before the event; inside 7 days the order is paid in full up front. No service fee; a 2.9% card fee applies to whatever you pay online, and cash carries none.
Pickup is free from either smokehouse, Wilmington or Mullica Hill; you choose which when you book. Catering delivery is available and needs the address.
Sales tax follows the kitchen or the event: 6.625% for a New Jersey event or a Mullica Hill pickup, none in Delaware. Same-day for smaller orders (up to 24 guests or 400.00 in pans and trays, 4 hours' notice); a day's notice for anything bigger. We call within a day to confirm the menu, headcount and timing.
Plates, cutlery and napkins are not included in the food price: they are 1.25 a person. A chafing set is 19.00. Serving utensils are free — just ask for them. Setup is priced by the event and we confirm it on the call.

Catering questions
Is there a minimum order for BBQ catering?
Per-guest packages start at ten guests and boxed lunches at 8 boxes. Pans, trays and combos have no minimum for pickup — order one half pan if that is what the party needs. Delivery orders start at 100.00 of food; pickup can be any size. Smaller orders can book the same day; larger ones need a day's notice.
Do you do boxed lunches for offices?
Yes. The Pit Box, the Premium Box and the vegetarian Garden Box are 14.99 to 19.99 a box: a smokehouse sandwich or three vegetarian sides, a side, a Hill Donut Co. donut, a pickle, napkin and cutlery, every box labeled. 8-box minimum across the tiers, a day's notice (two from 50 boxes), delivered or picked up. Details and ordering at 322bbq.com/catering/boxed-lunches.
What is the difference between a per-guest package and trays and pans?
A per-guest package is one price a guest for the whole spread — meats, sides, bread and sauces for your headcount, minimum ten guests. It is the easiest choice when you know the number. Trays and pans are priced by the piece: a half pan, a full pan, a party tray, with no minimum and nothing per guest. Pick that when you want only meat, only sides, or to add to a package. You can order both on the same booking.
Are plates, utensils, chafers and setup included?
No. Plates, cutlery and napkins are an add-on at 1.25 a guest, not part of the food price. A chafing set with sterno is 19.00. Serving utensils are free — just ask. Setup is extra: say what you need when you book and we price it on the confirmation call. The food arrives hot in foil pans either way.
How do I book and what does it cost up front?
Build the order online at 322bbq.com/catering/order — a per-guest package, pans and trays by the piece, or both — tell us where and when the event is, and pay a 50% deposit to hold the date. Your final headcount and the balance are due 7 days before the event; orders inside 7 days are paid in full online. Delivery asks for the address; pickup asks which smokehouse, Wilmington or Mullica Hill, and is free.
Are there service or processing fees?
There is no service fee. Card payments carry a 2.9% card fee; on catering that is on whatever you pay online, and cash carries no fee. Sales tax follows the kitchen or the event: 6.625% for a New Jersey event or a Mullica Hill pickup, none in Delaware.
Do you deliver and set up?
Yes. Delivery is available. The fee depends on distance; we add it to your order once we confirm it and charge it to the card on file. Delivery orders start at 100.00 of food; pickup can be any size. We do anything from a simple drop-off to a full buffet setup; say what you need when you book. Pickup from either kitchen is always free.
What areas do you cater?
Delaware, South Jersey and Southeastern Pennsylvania from two kitchens: 1845 Marsh Road, Wilmington, DE and 1 S. Main Street, Mullica Hill, NJ. Call the catering desk at (856) 285-4494 or email catering@322bbq.com.
How much does BBQ catering cost per person?
The Cookout is 16.99 a guest, The Tailgate 23.99, The Big Feast 32.99. Twenty guests on The Tailgate is 479.80 in food; fifty is 1,199.50; one hundred is 2,399.00. Sales tax follows the kitchen or the event and card payments carry a 2.9% card fee. Pans and trays are priced by the piece.
How many people does a pan serve?
Meat: 1 lb serves 3, a half pan (4 lb) serves 12 and a full pan (8 lb) serves 24; ribs, 1 rack serves 2–3. Sides: half pan ~5 lb serves 15 · full pan ~10 lb serves 30. Every package, tray and box shows how many it serves next to the price.
How much BBQ do I need for 20, 50 or 100 people?
A per-guest package feeds exactly the count. With pans, about 5 oz of meat a guest: a half pan is 4 lb and serves 12, a full pan is 8 lb and serves 24. Twenty people: one full pan of meat and two half pans of sides, or one Big BBQ Package (449.99, 22.50 a guest). Fifty: two full pans and a half pan of meat and four or five pans of sides. One hundred: double it.
How far in advance do I need to book?
Smaller orders (up to two dozen guests, or a few pans and trays) can be booked online for the same day with four hours' notice. Anything bigger needs at least a day's notice, or a call to the catering desk. Breakfast and donuts always need a day: they are baked and built the morning of your event. June graduation weekends and December party weekends fill early; hold the date with the deposit as soon as it is set and change the menu later.
What is the difference between drop-off, full service and the food truck?
Drop-off: hot pans, packages and trays delivered and set out, then we leave you to it; it books online. Full service: our crew sets up, serves and clears, with on-site cooking when wanted. Food truck: the pit on wheels. Full service and the truck are quoted by the catering desk.
Can we set up a standing weekly lunch order?
Yes. Tell Tim at the catering desk the days, the headcount and the address ((856) 285-4494, or the form below) and he sets it up. Boxed lunches need a day's notice, and the prices are the ones on this page.
Do you do on-site cookouts and private parties?
Yes. Full service can include on-site cooking, and you can rent a restaurant: 322 BBQ & Tavern in Wilmington holds up to 150 guests with a full bar and dance floor, and 322 BBQ in Mullica Hill holds up to 75, BYOB with no corkage. Cookouts and parties are quoted by the catering desk at (856) 285-4494.
Do you have vegetarian or gluten-friendly options?
Mac and cheese, creamed corn, brussels sprouts, garlic spinach, potato salad, coleslaw, jasmine rice, onion rings and fries are vegetarian sides. Every smoked meat, the dry rub and both sauces are made without gluten ingredients, and so are most sides; the full list is at 322bbq.com/gluten-friendly. We are not a certified gluten-free kitchen and share a fryer with breaded items, so tell us about allergies in the notes when you book and say "gluten-friendly table" — we set the rolls, cornbread and donuts aside.
