When the meeting runs through lunch, a buffet is one more thing to manage. A boxed lunch is not: every box has a smokehouse sandwich, a side, a Hill Donut Co. donut, a pickle, napkin and cutlery, and a label saying whose it is and what is in it. Order 10 or more, mix the three boxes however the room eats, and we drop them at the office or you pick them up.

How the boxes work
Pick a box for each group of people: the Pit Box for most of the room, the Premium Box where brisket is the point, the Garden Box for the vegetarians. Each line asks which sandwich and which side, so ten Pit Boxes with pulled pork and potato salad is one line, and six more with turkey and coleslaw is another. Sauce packets go in the box at no charge; a canned soda or bottled water is 2.00 more a box. Put names in the note on a line and the labels carry them.
Notice, minimums, delivery
10 boxes is the minimum for an order, across every tier together. We need a day's notice for boxed lunches, and two days from 50 boxes, because every sandwich is built the morning it goes out. Pickup from either smokehouse is free; delivery is priced by distance and confirmed by phone before the day. A New Jersey address adds sales tax; a Delaware one does not. A 50% deposit holds the date, and inside seven days the order is paid in full online.
Boxes or a buffet?
Boxes win when people eat at their desks, on a job site, on a bus, or in shifts; when there is no table to set up on; and when the count is under about forty. A per-guest package wins when everybody sits down together and wants seconds: The Cookout is 16.99 a guest for two meats, two sides, sliders and sauces, and it feeds a room of fifty faster than fifty boxes do. The 12.99 weekday lunch
Boxed lunches need a day. For a smaller group today, the weekday lunch card is the same idea at the counter: any burger, sandwich, bowl or salad with potato bites, a drink and a donut for 12.99, weekdays 11 am–3 pm, ordered ahead for pickup from either kitchen. Each order is bagged with a name on it, so a lunch drop for six is six orders, ready when you pull up.
Everybody sitting down together? A per-guest package is the buffet: The Cookout is 16.99 a guest for two meats, two sides, sliders and sauces.

How much is a BBQ boxed lunch?
The Pit Box is 15.99 a box, the Premium Box 19.99, and the vegetarian Garden Box 13.99. A drink is 2.00 more a box. Twenty Pit Boxes is 319.80 in food; sales tax follows the address (6.625% in New Jersey, none in Delaware) and card payments carry a 2.9% card fee.
What is the minimum order for boxed lunches?
10 boxes, across all three tiers together. Six Pit Boxes and four Garden Boxes is a fine order. Above that, any number; online booking runs to 200 boxes a line.
How far ahead do I have to order?
A day's notice for any boxed lunch order, two days from 50 boxes. The sandwiches are built the morning they go out, so there is no same-day for boxes. Need lunch today? The 12.99 weekday lunch orders ahead for pickup from either kitchen, and pans and trays for a smaller crowd can go same day.
Are the boxes labeled?
Yes. Every box is labeled with the sandwich and the side inside. Put names in the note on a line and the labels carry those too, so the vegetarian box and the no-onion box land in the right hands.
Is there a vegetarian boxed lunch?
The Garden Box: three vegetarian sides of your choosing, cornbread, a Hill Donut Co. donut and a pickle. Order it on the same booking as the other boxes, in any number.
Are there gluten-friendly boxes?
Every smoked meat, the dry rub and both sauces are made without gluten ingredients, and so are potato salad, coleslaw and pit beans. Ask in the note for a sandwich meat on a bed of slaw instead of the roll and we leave the roll, the donut and the cornbread out of that box. We are not a certified gluten-free kitchen and share a fryer with breaded items; the full list is at 322bbq.com/gluten-friendly.
Do you deliver boxed lunches to offices in Wilmington and South Jersey?
Yes. Give us the address when you book; delivery is priced by distance and confirmed by phone before the day. Pickup from 1845 Marsh Road, Wilmington, DE or 1 S. Main Street, Mullica Hill, NJ is free. Plates and serving utensils are not needed; everything is in the box.
Do the boxes come with a drink?
Not by default. Add a canned soda or bottled water for 2.00 a box on any line, or bring your own.
